The Certified Point-of-Care Testing Professional (CPP) credential recognizes professionals with expertise in the oversight, implementation, management, and support of point-of-care testing programs.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the required education and professional experience criteria and provide documentation supporting the eligibility pathway selected in the application.
Education & Experience Pathways

| Four-Year Degree | Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, physical, or medical laboratory science. | Minimum 2 years |
| Two-Year Degree | Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT). | Minimum 4 years |
| Credit-Hour Pathway | 48 semester hours of MLS/MLT coursework; OR 48 semester hours of science coursework consisting of 12 chemistry credits, 12 biology credits, and 24 additional chemistry, biology, MLS, or MLT credits. | Minimum 2 years |
POCT experience should include oversight of point-of-care testing in a patient-care setting, rather than only clinical laboratory experience operating POCT instrumentation.
International Education
Applicants with qualifying education completed outside the United States may need to provide a credential evaluation. The evaluation should document the degree, U.S. equivalency, institution, attendance and completion information, and course-by-course credit equivalency.

Application Process
Follow the steps below to complete the POCT Professional Certification application process.
Determine which education pathway applies to you and confirm that you meet the corresponding POCT experience requirement.
Gather your education documentation, CV or résumé, personal statement, supervisor documentation, and professional recommendation.
Enter the requested education, professional experience, and supporting information in the online application.
Submit all required materials and the applicable application fee by the published application deadline.
Completed applications are reviewed to determine whether the education, professional experience, and documentation requirements have been met.
Approved applicants receive instructions for exam registration and payment of the exam sitting fee.
Reapplication & Help
Review the information below if you are an approved candidate, have previously attempted the CPP examination, or need assistance with your application.
Eligibility Period
The eligibility period begins with the first examination cycle following candidate approval.
Examination Attempts
Candidates may attempt the CPP examination a maximum of two times during each one-year eligibility period.
Candidates are not required to participate in every available examination cycle. However, the candidate must successfully complete the examination requirements within the eligibility period and before exhausting the permitted examination attempts.
Reapplying for Certification
Candidates who do not successfully pass the examination after two attempts may reapply for certification. A new application and corresponding application fee must be submitted.
Reapplications are reviewed according to the eligibility requirements and policies in effect at the time of reapplication.

Candidates may hold only one active eligibility period at a time. A candidate must resolve the current eligibility status before submitting a new application.
